Results of 2021 World Olive Oil Competition to Be Released
The results of the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition will be announced from May 24 to May 27, unveilÂing each winÂning brand as it is cerÂtiÂfied by the NYIOOC, with a record numÂber of entries received this year. The NYIOOC results are closely folÂlowed by food indusÂtry proÂfesÂsionÂals, media, and conÂsumers lookÂing for high-qualÂity olive oil, with winÂning proÂducÂers benÂeÂfitÂing from increased visÂiÂbilÂity and opporÂtuÂniÂties in the marÂketÂplace.
The results of the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition will be revealed May 24 through May 27 from 9 o’clock AM until noon (UTC ‑4) on the Official Guide to the World’s Best Olive Oils.
The four-day online preÂsenÂtaÂtion will unveil each winÂning brand at the moment its result is cerÂtiÂfied by the NYIOOC.
In a year marked by chalÂlenges stemÂming from a global panÂdemic, cliÂmate change and marÂket headÂwinds, proÂducÂers in every olive oil-proÂducÂing region turned out in record numÂbers to comÂpete in the world’s largest and most presÂtiÂgious olive oil qualÂity conÂtest.
The NYIOOC received 1,171 entries for the 2021 ediÂtion, breakÂing the preÂviÂous record of 1,003 set in 2018.
The results of the NYIOOC are closely folÂlowed by food indusÂtry proÂfesÂsionÂals, media and othÂers conÂcerned with the qualÂity of the olive oil they buy.
More than 40,000 viewÂers witÂnessed last year’s real-time rollÂout of the winÂners on bestoliveoils.org, where the offiÂcial results are preÂsented. Each year, milÂlions of visÂiÂtors to the porÂtal learn about the awarded proÂducÂers.
More than 600 artiÂcles have been writÂten on the 2020 award-winÂning proÂducÂers in interÂnaÂtional media outÂlets, includÂing disÂpatches by Olive Oil Times jourÂnalÂists who closely cover the results of the annual conÂtest.
